Bonjour not needed anymore?

In the thread, The library "Bonjour" of "Apple" is not needed anymore, on the last part where it says "Caution
For the direct connection to be started, you need to send a command to the server manually, using os2l_cmd for example.
Once the connection is established you will get beat messages continuously." How do I send a command to the server manually? I don't understand how to do this between VDJ and ShowXpress.

I know with Bonjour, when you load VDJ and ShowXpress, the Beat function automatically starts working when you play music in VDJ. So if you disable Boujour, you have to do the send command 1st when you first open VDJ & ShowXpress for it to continually keep working. Once you close the programs, you have to send the command after you open them again? Can you explain to me how to send the command?
