[Request] Day/Night mode

Post by MGa »

Although a tiny change, I think it would be very helpful to be able to change the user interface from the bright UI, to a darker UI.

1. To save on eye strain at a dark venue.
2. To save the extra light bouncing around the venue from your monitors, possibly onto back walls, the crowd behind you, etc..

This may also be helpful in the Editor/ Pixels mode incase you have to edit a scene during a dark event.

Important remark
We can not propose two user interfaces, for several reasons. The most important reasons are:
- the tutorials, manuals, videos must match with only one UI (this is important for the new users who discover our software)
- two "opposite" UI's (bright vs dark) will require two different designs of icons for the software, and we want to have only one design of icons

So important question
If you have only a "night mode" user interface (means no more "day mode" UI), will this be ok for everybody ?

I would MUCH prefer the Dark UI. I would hope though that both options would still be available though! However yes, I prefer the darker one

Trying to make our question more clear, we changed it by:

Would you agree to do replace the existing user interface by a darker user interface ?

Again, the software will still have only one user interface.
if you answer "yes" to this question, this means that you agree to do not have anymore the existing user interface.

Sorry for being unclear. I vote to make the interface dark instead of light.

However I'd be more comfortable knowing other users agreed with me! :D Hope some other users comment on this thread! :D

I would not disagree on a dark user interface. The new dot2 onPC (GrandMa) version also uses a dark interface.

I do not really like the dark interface, but each user likes are different. I would be in favour of a user selectable colour table.
This would be inline with most computer programs.
