New Venue pan/tilt Setup

Post by DickGrande »

Help! Kinda a noob...
I am using showxpress with the xpress512 interface on a win7 machine.
I have 2 4bar tri's and 2 intimidator 200 led scanners.
I have developed scenes which contain a particular lighting scene (scanner spotlight guitarist/4bar tri's on sound control)
My lights are setup at our studio and our band member placements (x/y) are programmed into showxpress for our 2 scanners.
When we move them to a venue, I have to edit each of the scenes that contain the studio x/y with the new x/y as we have changed positions, and so have the lights.
I am looking for a way to easily and globally reset my X/Y values on my scanners to reflect their new positions. Is there a way to view the .sce files notepad or something so I can 'find and replace' the values I want to change? Or am I doing this wrong to begin with?

Thanks!

We suggest you to organize Live like this:
- one page with scenes for movements only
- one page with scenes for color only
- one page with scenes for gobos only
...

"only" means all other channels not activated.

Afterwards, each time you change to a new venue, you have to adjust only the "movement only" scenes.

Thanks for the replies, but I am not really using the 'live' area, I use the timeline to setup our set list and have a foot trigger to start/stop as we play. We dont have a light guy, and I am playing guitar while starting and stopping the timeline... Ill keep working at it.

So we suggest you to organize TimeLine like this:
- one line with scenes for movements only
- one line with scenes for color only
- one line with scenes for gobos only
...
