Support,
Last week I was putting together a show rather quickly by adding stock scenes and creating a few new ones into live while making Macros for all the look/features I want.
And then the unexpected happened, a storm blew the power out in the theatre. Once I got the power restored and booted up my computer everything I had put into Live was gone from the time I opened ShowXpress to the power failure.
I didn't lose any scenes I had made in that time, any changes to fixtures profiles, nor did I lose any changes to my Input and Output Patches. Just the Live buttons.
It seems as though as I make buttons the must be stored in a temp file somewhere and not properly saved until I close Live. A scene when done, is saved or discarded, I get it. But when a button is made why isn't it saved? Why do I now need to take notes as I make buttons and Macros (to recreate if I have a power failure again or computer lock up) and shut Live down every now and then to make sure my progress is saved?
(Yes I know I should have an uninterruptible power supply for power outages but computer freezes and lock ups do happen as well)
Thanks!

Re: Power Failure
There is a "save" option in buttons.
Re: Loosing page&buttons after power failure [fixed]
There is a "save" option in Timeline but NOT in Buttons. I don't see a "save"option anywhere in buttons. Not in the top left menu or in the right_click drop down Board menu.
What am I missing?

Version 6.30 beta 3 has "Buttons - Save"
Re: Losing page&buttons after power failure [fixed]
Yes. You are quite right. I just wasn't using the beta because I was in middle of a show. Thanks for the info!

Re: Losing page&buttons after power failure [fixed]
The original post is about a year and a half old, however I would like to add to my experience of losing Live buttons because of a power failure.
Since this incident I have been dutifully saving my buttons on Live frequently when programing, and at the end of shows. Now today I was working on adapting my programming from my master program to the next venue and it's lighting design when I deleted a dozen buttons I suddenly realised I really still wanted. Remembering what happened a year and a half ago, I pulled the plug on my computer and then rebooted. I was restored to my previous save with all the buttons I had deleted were restored. While I was pretty upset at the time at what happened. This time I exploited the feature to my advantage.
It never gets boring does it?
