can`t use the buttons with dmx

Hi,

I have a small problem.

I'm using the setup of the scenes.
If I dmx the setup button is activated, the lights work as I have made the scene.
Then save and close the setup program.
then I open it with the live program, therefore I make a button on.
The button DMX I to stand (in live), I can then click the button, and the background of the button going gray, but the lights do nothing.
This is very strange because this problem last week I had not, to my knowledge, I have not changed below.

I hope someone can help me,

Je crois avoir compris le problème de maupie, et il m'est arrivée aussi plusieurs fois de façon aléatoire..
Après avoir créé une scène avec générator, l'avoir générée et enregistrée en la nommant dans éditor, lorsque je crée un bouton dans live et que je joue la scène rien ne se passe....
Si je réouvre la scène dans éditor elle est vide.
mais je le redis ça m'est arrivée que 3-4 fois, sur le coup j'ai cru que j'avais fait une bêtise...

I have the same problem too (as I understand from reading the original post).

Basically, I create a scene in the Editor with everything connected (ShowXpress and lights) and the scene is able to save itself ok. Playing the scene using the editor is fine and the lights perform as programmed. The Scene is then saved.

I then go into Live and add the newly created Scene into live by right clicking the name of the page I want to add the button to, click Add a Light Scene, and I select the file. The Scene seems to be added properly and a new button shows up.

However, this is the problem. When I play the newly created Scene, even with DMX switched on in Live, the lights are not triggered. In other words, the Scene's button is pressed, the button turns gray, but the fixtures don't respond.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think I figured it out...

I was checking out the live.ini file looking for clues. I found that when a light scene is added, a few lines are added to live.ini such as:

Using the button corresponding to the entry above makes the button work properly.

For some reason, whenever I add a new button now, it comes up as this:

name = /Users/chrischeng/THELIGHTINGCONTROLLER/LightShows/Soundhub/scenes/MHP - Circle
title = MHP - Circle #1
volume = 0

Using the button corresponding to the entry above results in the button not working properly. However, if I delete /Users/chrischeng/THELIGHTINGCONTROLLER/LightShows/Soundhub/scenes/ then the same button works fine.

Is this a bug or is my Mac triggering the above behavior?

3 people having similar problem means there is certainly a problem.
Moreover, the clear technical explaination of zChris should be very helpful to help us to fix this problem, although we never had the chance to reproduce it.

We will check this asap.
Please note that there might be some delay, because we have a big tradeshow this week in Germany (prolight+sound).

The problem might come from the folder "TheLightingController" which is supposed to be written exactely like this "TheLightingController", and not like this "THELIGHTINGCONTROLLER".

Please tell us if this folder was created by the software, or if you created it yourself.
If second case, please change the name by "TheLightingController".

In mine, it is written as TheLightingController.

The folder was originally created by the software. However, I have this folder synced to the cloud using SugarSync, which allows me to keep this folder in sync with my other macs. This allows me to use my other Mac (using another installed instance of the software) for creating scenes and such on a copy of the same data directory and automatically sync back the changes to the mac I use for shows.

EXACTLY the same problem for me... And I have checked that the scenes are saved at in the right folder at the right place with the right name...

Using 6.23 as the 6.30 didnt work at all for me, couldnt even open the manual... Lucky me found the older 6.23 in the download folder... So I
could at least work last night with the scenes.
