So the issue is that I can not get 3D view to match real world movement.
Not limited to one fixture. I have 3 different moving heads types.
Like start position. I can rotate fixture in 3D setup but then it will go left when in real life it goes right. (or vice versa)
Setting correct axis movement, starting point etc [fixed]
Re: Setting correct axis movement, starting point etc
In application "Setup" > tab "fixtures setting" > section "3DView" > check option "reverse pan/tilt"
The Lighting Controller
Re: Setting correct axis movement, starting point etc [fixed]
So I had tried that prior to posting the issue.
Out of my 3 moving head types only 1 (2 fixtures) work correctly. The other 2 move in the opposite direction from real life no matter what I do.
Example:
From default - light hanging. Lense points up. Moves to right.
In 3D I can set the initial start position by using the fixture orientation controls. But when X is moved it moves left. If I go into Setup and check the "Reverse Pan" it flips the X controls to 255 BUT it does NOT change the direction it travels. It still goes left. If I use the Editors "Flip pan value on all steps" it of course does just that and in 3D it travels to the right BUT the light becomes all skewed in reality.
Ah for the majick of a button to select initial travel direction
(which is JUST for the 3D app - nothing real world) IE on the editor. Instead of it flipping the channels to 255. You have 2 different check boxes.1 for Left the other for Right.

Hi
To me it looks its your movinghead and not the software
Try searching in the manuel for the moving head for the funtion reverse pan/tilt

Funny I did this today as it was a thought after yesterdays attempt.
I had to Reverse Pan in the Setup and also on the lights themselves. Behavior is a bit odd in that until a DMX control signal comes through they are offset. But once a signal goes through they reset. Note - that is not the light as 2 different models/brands do this. BUT that is liveable.
Wouldn't be easier to have such a Left or Right button for 3D view?
