While watching your video, we noticed that you were using the "macOS Intel" version for v9.4.3 but the "Apple Silicon" (ARM) version for v9.4.1.
Could you please try the "macOS Intel" version for v9.4.1?
On our side, we will check the MIDI-In functionality with the "Apple Silicon" (ARM) version of the software.

We tried to reproduce your issue but without success. Like you, we even used the IAC Driver (and the "Virtual Midi Send" application from the App Store to send MIDI messages).

In all cases, we successfully receive the sent MIDI messages in the "Midi Logger" window of version 9.4.1 (Intel and ARM).
It seems there's a filter somewhere on your system that's blocking messages sent to 9.4.1 (firewall?).
Could you try temporarily disabling any protection (firewall, etc.) or test it on another Mac?

We have been testing the same version (9.4.1) on several Macs:

M4 + macOS Sequoia 15.2

M1 + macOS Sequoia 15.6.1

M3 + macOS Sequoia 15.3.1

None of these setups worked successfully. We also tested sending MIDI from other software, such as Ableton, and nothing worked either.

We even tried using another application (MIDI Pipe), which acts as an internal MIDI cable, but that didn’t work as well.

The only way we managed to make it work was by using a physical MIDI controller. While this works, it’s not the point—we specifically need to use internal MIDI.

I don’t see why a firewall could stop the received messages with only this version and function perfectly with the previous version. We have never had a problem receiving midi using the IAC bus ever.

This brings us to an important question:
Is it possible to make the new interfaces compatible with older versions, as they were in the past?

Hello.

We have this problem also now on macs running the 9.4.1 software.

Midi is being sent correctly from Qlab and other Midi programs. Captured the data using Midiview but Lightingcontroller does not respond.

External midi from Akai MPK mini play registers but nothing from the internal midi routing is recognised or registered in your software.

Hope this helps you with finding a fix.

We have deployed 2 of your new DMXW boxes and we cannot use any preprogrammed lights so we apprcieate any speedy fix you can offer.

Thank you!
