big check mark in button

how do you get rid of a button that has a giant check mark in it? why did that happen? that button freezes and i cannot delete it

ummmm can somebody direct me to where i can find this info? has it been posted already?

Did you try moving the button or change the color before it happened? It is possible the window used to move or change the color may be behind a window or off your screen.

If not is the check mark there all the time or just when you press it?
