Please, can you try with this debug version of the Windows executable file who should show informations about the error when the crash occurs.
Then you can send us the screen shot of this message.

Re: Showxpress Crashing
Don't understand why you have this kind of error message from Windows but you have to put and launch the file from the directory of the application, exactly like if it is a "fix file" (https://forum.thelightingcontroller.com ... =85&t=3438)
Re: Showxpress Crashing
Not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I placed the debugger executable in the ShowXpress folder ran it and am not getting a different error message. Just the notification.
Re: Showxpress Crashing
From this result (no additional crash information in a Window), it seems the crash is due to an external cause. Can you please try running the software on an other computer ?
Re: Showxpress Crashing
I tried running the program from another computer and the same thing happened. See the attached picture.

Re: Showxpress Crashing
This problem is really weird !
Can you please :
- Send us your "param.ini" file : It is located in the root of {your_home_directory}\TheLightingController (where are stored your LightShows) (https://forum.thelightingcontroller.com ... ?f=3&t=168)
- Try with the following program file, it is a special version of the software who do not try at all to use the DMX interface. Like the previous "debug" executable, you have to put it in the program directory and launch it (https://forum.thelightingcontroller.com ... =85&t=3438)

Re: Showxpress Crashing
I emailed you the file you requested. I also tried the fix it file and had the same result.
Re: Showxpress Crashing
I have been having the same problem of crashing about every 15 minutes (laptop with Win10). Ricardo, in Chauvet tech support, is trying to help me, but so far no fix. Have you found a solution?
Also, attached is a screenshot of an error message I get when I install ShowXpress. This must be a clue.
The same version of ShowXpress does not crash on my tablet. Unfortunately, I haven't found an adapter that will allow the micro USB port on the tablet to operate the 512. Any suggestions on that issue?
Desperate!
Thanks.
David

Re: Showxpress Crashing
This error message concerns the driver installation (which is done during the software install, when you press "yes" for driver install).
It is apparently due to a catalog file which is present in the driver package. This catalog file, which was necessary with the previous versions of Windows, has now to be removed. However, it looks this does not block the driver install process. This error message will be fixed for the next complete software setup.
