Special Request for more fixtures

Post by MTF Showtechnic »

Hello,
we are creating some new objects. They should be used for 3DView and for fixture settings.
At the moment there are only PAR,Head,Wash,Scanner,Strobe and coloured Objects selectable.
We've found the directory to add the objects for the 3DView but as you know it will only be animated in 3DView if we can select them in fixture settings.
Is it possible to add the obj. for ourself (which directory/file) - and if not can you add the obj.if we send them to you?
The Fixtures are fixed installed Wall and Ceiling Lights and it's not really nice to define them as PAR.
For example - the Wall Lights are emitting light to the up- and downside with a 150W lamp.
Hope my descrition is comprehensible.
greetings from germany

Unfortunately it is not so easy, because each new fixture object has to be software coded, especially because of its beam.

I anticipated as much. It isn't easy to do.
It would be very nice if you can do this.
Some of the users are working with a Laser.
It would also be nice to have a selection in fixture settings.
And last but not least: Our Moving Lights can work with different white temperatures like 3200K, 4000K etc. up to 10000K
If we select one of this there'll be no beam in 3DView.

You can define new colors in this file: ../Your Software/TheLightingController/editor_fixtures_icons/color/colors.ini
Afterwards, you will see them in 3DView.

I know that. But it's defined as color_macro channel. If you want to edit the Channel levels you can only select from file "others" not from "colors" :(
I can redefine it as color channel but in what connection do I use the color macro channel ???

The channel "color macro" has no effect in 3DView.
Only the channel "color" has.

Forget the setting as "color" channel - that doesn't work!
I've just checked it. This Wash (Showtec Expression 6000Q4 Person2 setting) has RGBW Channels and... the color macro channel.
If the channel "color macro" is changed into "color" there'll be a beam when the dimmer channel is used. (all other channels disabled)
And as color macro we've our problem with no beam at the different color temperatures.
greetings

Yes, 3DView is presently not able to handle both a channel "color" plus a channel "color_macro".
Sorry for this.
