Sequential "Cues"?

Post by Detour DJ »

I'm pretty good with ShowX, but there's still lots more to learn. Is there any way to set up a multi-step scene and manually tap through the steps as needed? I'm familiar with the Manual BPM feature where you can tap in the timing, but I'm thinking of a scene where the step changes don't necessarily land on uniform timing. I'm also familiar with the Preset Button feature, but that only provides a small fader with vague resolution, or allows you to open a submenu and choose a step. What I'm asking for is maybe a "Next" button within a scene button that advances to the next step in that scene when tapped. Does ShowX have any feature similar to or usable like this?

We have been asking for this feature for years. A must have for live production. Still waiting patiently.

Or even a "Cue" button that could be like a "Macro" button, but with steps. Each Cue step could act like a separate Macro. The first tap on a Cue button would activate the first Macro step, and successive presses of the Cue button would activate the next Macro step. Perhaps a CTRL+Cue button would turn it off, or whatever makes logical sense.

Erm? Explain. Can I do a 200 step cue stack with the "+" sign?

Maybe we can convince the developers of introducing a cuelist in V8...

To be fair I would not likely cue stack an entire theatre rock show even if it is completely tracked and blocked. So completely tracked in fact that all prop moves, instrument changes, video cues, laser cues, fly cues, and spotlight cues are tracked for the crew.
I just sit at FOH pushing lighting cues and calling anything on comm that got missed.
