Remote Control Via PC to PC

I have had my interface hooked up to a pc backstage and used the functionality of Showexpress to remotely control it from my laptop, giving me full access to the lighting system in version 6, I am having trouble getting version 7 setup correctly, the default IP in the network tab for TheLightingController shows the 127.0.0.1, Do I change that to the IP of the host PC or leave it alone (On the host PC)? I assume that I would put the IP of the Host PC in that box on my Laptop for remote control? I have had it setup and working flawlessly in version 6.

If your V6 setup was: Live on your laptop was driving ControlBoard on the backstage PC, this is not possible with V7 because both applications are now in one single executable file.

Ok, so that functionality was removed in version 7? What is the IP address for the lighting controller in the network tab used for then? My setup was before I would just open the show express on the pc backstage and then I just opened showexpress on my laptop and I had full control once I loaded my show on the laptop. It really wouldn't be remote control if you asked me; it was more using the pc backstage as a network bridge to the dmx interface connected to that pc, which was capable through showexpress v 6.

The functionality was not removed. It is now just not possible, since the "ControlBoard" functions are now included together with the window "Live", in the same program file.

We suggest you to use a "remote access software" like VNC (or TightVNC).

Ok, but what is "thelightingcontroller" ip box used for in the network tab? Because it is set to the default address which isn't used in even the remote apps, they use the local ip.

This IP is only for 3DView.
It has to be changed & used exclusively if 3DView is running on another computer.
