Hi,
When I trigger an audio file in Live, the track starts sometimes in the middle just for a second and then begins to play properly. It's like putting the needle down on the wrong part on a record, then bouncing back to the beginning.
Is there a specific folder I should keep my files to avoid this? Or is there some audio tweaking somewhere in my Mac setting that will help?
Late 2009 MacBook Pro
8 GB RAM
Mavericks 10.9.2
External sound card is a Native Instruments Audio 2 DJ
All drivers are up to date
THANKS!

In order to try to find where does the problem come from, please tell us if the following configurations are noisy or not:
1. same sound file without the external sound card
2. another sound file without the external sound card
3. another sound file with the external sould card

Re: Noisy when Triggering audio, using external sound card
Thanks for your fast reply!
1. same sound file without the external sound card
When the file is played through the laptop speakers and headphone jack, there is no noise
2. another sound file without the external sound card
Same. All files played through laptop speakers and headphone jack sounded fine
3. another sound file with the external sound card
All files played with the external sound card have the same problem
I even tried a different external sound card with the same problems occurring.
It's a weird tick for sure. If I select "Celebration" for example...the horns that come in 30 seconds into the song might play for a second. And then when selecting "Footloose" I might hear a different part of "Celebration" briefly. "Celebration" isn't the problem...this happens between different songs as well.
My headphone jack on my MacBook Pro is loose, so I'm trying to work around it with the external card. Replacing the Logic board on a Macbook Pro is $700. :/

It indeed looks like there is a problem with the external sound card. All files played through laptop speakers and headphone jack sounded fine

We do not have it, so it will be difficult for us to help you.
Any experience with external sound card on Macbook, from another user, is welcome !
