3D visualizer not matching actual

Post by CQE DJs »

So I have 2 Blizzard Pucks and 3 Chauvet LED Splash 200b that I use for façade and truss warming.

I have everything programmed correcty for various scenes (fades, colors, strobes, etc). They work properly when the lights are actually plugged in, yet in the 3d viewer only the Pucks behaving the way they do in real life. The Chauvet units are either not showing up, or when they do show up it is on a random scene and even on my "Blackout" scene.

Any reason why this could be? I would LOVE to have this working properly in 3D so I don't have to set up my lights each time I want to make a new scene but when only half work properly in 3d it is frustrating. Any reason why this would be? Again, everything works 100% perfectly when the lights are actually plugged in.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Please post the personality files (.txt) of the non working fixtures.
We will check them.

If not easy to find the txt files, you can post (or email) the complete lightshow.

3D sometimes its no exactly with some functions... try to first test what you can simulate ... specially if you want to work with timelines. i spend more time at the venue testing the timeline for corrections... because the simulation its not the real stuff...

3D is not totally accurate with things like strobe speeds or inbuilt features of fixtures, i.e. snap on and fade down, snap off and fade up, or blackout features like, blackout when gobo wheel moves, or BO moves in pan tilt, or BO for gobo change, etc.
I often modify profiles to suit my needs.
Such as the various values I need for common strobe settings or common colour values I mix with.
At the end of the day, with enhanced profiles I can do 90% of programming I want, and then tweak programming at venues when I have the rig up at a venue.
No matter what I always keep a few sample fixtures around, in my office, for actual observation of their true behaviours until I have a really tweaked customised profile of them.

I agree that it will never be 100% accurate which is fine. But what I'm facing is that certain lights (LEDs) wont even show as on, when they clearly would be when the fixture is actually plugged in. I am going to send in the files that is requested and go from there. There still may be something I did wrong on my end, but I doubt it being that the actual fixtures are doing exactly what I want. I'm fine if strobe speeds are off a bit etc...but simple on and off should work fine.
