NO PC Link [fixed]

Just got the Express-512 and it will not work with my Macbook Pro (10.10.5)
I can use every other USB device in my office without issue, but the PC Link will not connect. The DMX icon is active, but nada...
I have scoured the web for OS X usb trouble shooting and tried to reset the SMC and the PRAM... nada...
I see this is a very common thread here - this thing is apparently an intermittent, expensive piece of junk.
Are there archived versions of the lighting controller that might work better?
Any one else find a fix? Or other hardware that is more reliable...?
Kinda useless if I can't get it to work on the laptop.

It looks your interface has a problem.
Please return it to your retailer for maintenance service.
To be 100% sure the interface is damaged, please try it with another computer.

Thank you for the quick reply.
I tried everything, except uninstalling and a reinstall of 8.1.23. After speaking with a very friendly tech support, this was a final suggestion... which fixed the problem. However, I do find it a bity finicky, I have to restart the app and/or the Macbook to get it to connect most times. But great support...and moving forward.

This is not normal.
Please note that a "
ground loop" problem can cause this problem (
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1686).

I have the same issue, just received my xpress512. Showxpress detects the interface when the application is launched, however, it does not have the PC link lit. There is no dmx data transmitting to my fixtures. DMX out is enabled in software. I re installed the software, rebooted and still no luck. The interface works on my Windows 10 HP laptop, software detects the interface and has the pc link light lit, no issues there. Same configurations on both laptops. Using OS 10.5.5 Yosemite. Macbook Pro i5, 16gb RAM.
Just installed the old version of ShowXpress V7. Seems to be working with no issues there. How do I get version 8.1.29 to work?

I have the D512. It does not work with the latest release, 8.1.29. I downloaded version 7 for trouble shooting purposes. The D512 works with that version, PC link light is active, I am able to operate my fixtures... The PC link light while using version 8 is not active and does not send DMX data out to the D512 interface. Unable to control Light fixtures with the latest release, version 8.1.29

Do you read "interface xxx found" in the welcome screen, with software V8 ?
(you can call back the welcome screen with "main menu > Help > About")
