V8 - Direct dmx patch on 2nd controller

I'm using a general midi fader controller as a zone dimmer in a nightclub.

As a second controller I'm using a midicon. I want to be able to direct dmx patch to my midicon as well as my fader controller.

I haven't found a way to do it except for using other software that might or might not always work. I can't have that, it has to be 100% reliable.

Is there something I've missed?

If not, is there a way this could be implemented into the software?

To path midi to dmx channels, please see chapter "How to set the dmx/midi inputs to fixtures" here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4342

I know how to do direct dmx patching, the problem is that it doesn't work on my 2nd controller.

I'm running 8.1.10.

Is your second midi device well declared in the menu "Preferences" tab "Midi" ?
Please post a screenshot of this tab.

The controller is working just fine, all buttons and faders do their job.

(Sorry, not able to post a screenshot at the moment)

I'll describe the steps I'm taking.

- open patch for DMX and MIDI
- Midi Input
- Learn
- Move fader
- Fader doesn't register

I've tried putting the midicon as the first controller and it works fine. But then the 2nd controller doesn't work anymore.

It looks like the hard patch can't find the 2nd controller.

I am using it in fader buttons within live and it works like a charm...
