importing mp 3 into live audio timeline

i am running windows 7 [ 64 bit] with show xpress and i cannot import mp 3 s into the audio timeline ....i have no issues with the light shows on the "light show time line"
does anyone have any ideas...????

mp3 files work if they are 128kb, but all others are eratic. wav files work best.

The software does not decode any file by itself to play sound/video, it uses the OS installed codecs. If a file is not correctly decoded, then you do not have the required codec. It could be a good solution to use a codec pack like, IE, "K-Light Codec Pack".
