Why are New, Open and save buttons greyed out? [fixed]

In Timeline... the buttons New, open and Both save buttons are greyed out when the play marker is NOT at the beginning or end..???
Why is this?

These functions are not allowed during play (or pause).
You have to press "stop", to be able to use them.

During play, i understand... But in pause?
What is the idea behind this?
In older versions you could save in pause.
Now i know, I'll work around it, but before I knew, i searched myself silly, why i could not save??? haha
using the shortcut pause button is easyer than the stop button.

<shift + space> is the shortcut for "stop"
