Never heard of this issue before with Auto BPM disabled.

I was helping a buddy out teaching him how to sound active a button in live and for some reason Auto BPM is un-selectable.... He has the option to select Manual BPM he can see Auto BPM but it is ghosted out and non selectable. He is using Mac and 6.3... Anyone heard of this? I wanna get him going. Yes, he has a working mic he had used it earlier that day.... Thanks for the input on this.
