Finally someone agrees with me that the interface box I have is defective. Tech support verified what I have been saying all along.

Well we soon will see, haven't been able to program anything yet. but I do have a better understanding on the basics. Being a sound tech, Video Live Streamer, now a newbie lighting tech. I'm gonna soon be indispensable

When without Covid, this forum is quite active, and it's got a good amount of heavy users here.
And we do have a lot of tricks and workarounds for doing stuff, either our own way or just simpler then what the software is intended for.
Hope they sort you out quickly so you can get crunching.
Oh and in lighting world, on a desk/software. We call a DMX addr for a channel, just like in audio world
So channel 1 operates DMX addr 001

Thanks for your assistance and patience working with such a novice. I have contacted the supplier and they are expediting the new interface. I asked them to test before shipping.I will be using this resource often I'm sure. All the tech things I do are volunteer at our church. So I will be passing this information on. I just need to understand the ins and outs before passing the torch. I'm self taught in everything, sound, then live stream, now lighting. I've built the sound system and now the lighting. I'm getting to old.

I ordered everything from Sweetwater and the faulty interface will be returned to them.

So, an update to all who have given advice. I received the new Xpress-1024 interface today, tested it out and it worked flawlessly. I know that my frustration was showing here on this forum, please accept my apology for anything that might have come across as offensive. Being a novice to the DMX lighting scene and having things not function as they should really tested my patience.
