I run shows in 2 universes off an i7 PC with SSD and have never had any issues. Some of my students do have i3s and even intel ATOMs and I find they tend to struggle a bit with 3d View. I personally have never had an issue.
The only time i notice any slowness is when loading large Sequential Lists. My sequential lists for shows can sometimes be up to 100Kb in size as I'm creating very large macros. FYI 100kb for a Sequential List is pretty massive. The software actually hangs for about 10 seconds when loading those lists.
Macro Question
Re: Macro Question
I picked up a Samsung 7 Spin 15.6" with 12 GB and the i7 Dual core and it has initially showed real promise to solving the problem I was having. I will have to throw in an SSD next.

Re: Macro Question
Yes, this is indeed massive.100kb for a Sequential List
If possible, please send us your lightshow (https://forum.thelightingcontroller.com ... ?f=3&t=168).
We will check that.

I emailed the show to you as requested

Just a side note: Because I create such large Sequential Lists, thats one reason I had previously requested the ability to be able to Copy and Paste a Macro in Sequential List

Re: Macro Question
@ Luc Henrion
The Sequential List file is read from RAM, but parsing 100Kb takes CPU time.

Thank you for the lightshows.
