The Lighting Controller

Can anyone suggest a good cleaner for DMX contacts.
Often when I set up I have problems getting all devices to work.
Usually a drop of Isopro does the trick but it happens too often.
Have checked out all cables by swapping but it often comes down to one of two connectors either on leads or fittings

So how can I get each lens to chase through 6 separate colours.??
Do I have to set more channels for separate control?

When I program my Chauvet Sweeper led do I have to duplicate the fixture to enable the 6 lights.

Just found very useful step by step of setup, not for my fixture but soon got it to work with Showxpress

When I start Showxpress there is a text sayin No Universe found . What is a Univers and do I have to have one to start programming.

I am having trouble getting to grips with Showxpress.
Is there a step by step guide anywhere.
I want to program my Chauvet sweeper.I can get the fixture in but get stuck as to what to do to create a scene.
I think once I can get my fixture to work I could work on others.

I have downloaded Show Express to try and get to grips with DMX.
As yet I have not bought any DMX lighting and do not have a dongle.
Is it still possible to practice programming. I dont seem to be able to get a fixtures page.
Am I missing something.
